June 26, 2009 Millennium named in Quick Printing's Top 100

June 19, 2009 Printing & Marketing Firm Awards Scholarships to Arts Students
Millennium Marketing Solutions, in Annapolis Junction, Md., awarded two Long Reach High School seniors with the Holly Atkins Arts Scholarship and one student with the Joy Gerkens Arts (Fine) Scholarship at the Columbia high school’s Awards Night on May 21.
Millennium Owner and Vice President Jody Franklin presented Rebecca Ballinger, Michael Royster and Rodney Ross with the scholarships in recognition of their exceptional capabilities in the arts coupled with outstanding grades. The owners of Millennium established the Annual Holly Atkins Arts Scholarship to honor and memorialize a young family friend tragically killed in a car accident when she was just 18.
“Holly was a very talented, very special young lady,” says Janice Tippett, President/Owner of Millennium. “Through the scholarship, we can support Holly’s passion while assisting these promising students in meeting their goals and reaching for their dreams.”
This was the first year for the Joy Gerkens Scholarship in honor of “Joy Gerkens”, sister to Janice and Jody owners of Millennium Marketing Solutions. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend and mentor. A very talented graphic designer and artist, Joy introduced younger sister and founder of Millennium, Janice to the arts. With a desire to teach children, Joy went back to school and graduated in 2007 with an Elementary Teaching Degree with Chapel Hill, North Carolina. On February 20, 2008 Joy suddenly passed away due to a rare heart infection.
In honor of her desire to teach and her love of art, her sisters Jody and Janice have established this scholarship fund to recognize students at Long Reach High School to assist them in reaching their goals and dreams in the fine arts.

April 20, 2009 Millennium Marketing Solutions Hosts“Spring
Forward Your Business” Educational Expo
Millennium Marketing Solutions, a full-service marketing resources provider in Annapolis Junction, Maryland hosted a “Spring Forward Your Business” Educational Expo on April 1st, featuring speed-seminars and hands-on introductions from marketing professionals to the newest, coolest promotional products on the market.
The event featured four mini speed-seminars on SEO Tips and Tricks to Get to the Top, Promo Products Out of Yogurt Containers, Water Bottles and Bamboo?, Lumpy and Personalized – Maximize Your Direct Mail and 3-D Personalized Variable Printing.
Those attending received a recycled spiral notebook with pen, a tote made out of recycled water bottles and a chance to win various prizes by playing Millennium Plinko. March 26, 2009 Millennium Receives National Certification as a
Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC)
Millennium Marketing Solutions, a printing and marketing business received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization/DC, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
WBENC’s national standard of certification implemented by the Women Presidents’ Educational Organization/DC is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

January 28, 2009 Millennium Marketing Solutions partners with Maryland’s Division of Correction K-9 Unit for Drug Training Event
Recently, Millennium Marketing Solutions opened its doors to Maryland’s Division of Correction K-9 Unit and several of their dogs for their monthly drug training. “It’s important to keep the dogs focused and their searching skills sharp”; says Sgt. David Brosky, K-9 Handler and spouse to one of our own. Dogs, like Riley, Charlie, Jazz and Hogan participated in the event.
Each of the dogs scanned areas throughout the building, locating narcotics hidden in places like desk drawers, on shelves and within stacks of paper products. “Being able to train dogs in locations that so closely resemble some of the areas in which they will work is of great value”; says Capt. Greg Shumake the K-9 Unit’s Assistant Commander. The support from companies like Millennium who lend their facilities to train is what allows the Division’s K-9 Unit to produce the high quality detector dogs that they have become known for.

January 16, 2009 National Association of Quick Printers Honors Firm with Three Awards

November 13, 2008 Toys For Tots drop-off at Millennium Marketing Solutions
Millennium Marketing Solutions, a printing and marketing company in Annapolis Junction, is serving as a drop-off location for the local Toys for Tots campaign. This drop-off site at 10900 Pump House Road, near the intersection of Guilford and Dorsey Run Roads just off Maryland Rt. 32, is one of 21 in Howard County. Toys may be dropped in Millennium’s main lobby Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on or before Friday, Dec. 19.
“We’re very proud to be part of such a helpful and caring organization,” says Millennium President Janice Tippett. “Toys for Tots brings happiness to so many children. We challenge every Howard County business to contribute in some way to this great cause.”
In 1947, Toys for Tots began when Major Bill Hendricks, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR), and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. Currently, local Toys for Tots campaigns are conducted annually in over 500 communities covering all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Since Toys for Tots began more than 60 years ago, Marines have distributed more than 370 million toys to more than 173 million needy children.
Donated toys should be new, unwrapped and appropriate for children from newborns to 17 years old. Toy weapons or those with law enforcement or military themes or anything with chemicals will not be accepted. Toys are collected from drop-off sites on Dec. 22. With the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, Toys for Tots volunteers distribute the toys to the needy children of the community on December 23 and 24.

Millennium Marketing Solutions, a marketing and printing company in Annapolis Junction, has been selected #11 among TheGazette of Politics and Business “Exceptional 53” companies; named among the Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises in the region, and also ranked as the 38th largest woman-owned business in the Baltimore area by the Baltimore Business Journal.
The newly launched “Gazette P & B Exceptional 53” awards program acknowledges the top 53 businesses and organizations in Maryland based on criteria including annual revenue and employee growth, as well as noteworthy product or service innovations, community service efforts and positive work environments. Award recipients were announced and honored on Sept. 18 at the Doubletree Hotel in Bethesda.
The Top 100 Minority Business Enterprise Award honors outstanding women and minority business owners in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Millennium Marketing Solutions, a full-service marketing resources provider in Annapolis Junction, hosted a Back-to-School Marketing Expo on Sept 10, featuring educational mini-seminars and hands-on introductions to the newest, coolest promotional products on the market.
Membership director for the Baltimore-Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce Nancy LaJoice said the Marketing Tips for Tight Times seminar was “a great presentation” and even requested it be repeated at future Millennium events. Guests also attended mini-seminars on holiday gift-giving and “green” printing and paper.
In keeping with the back-to-school theme, those attending received a personalized mini-composition notebook and had a chance to win a tabletop football game, complete with goalpost. Millennium Marketing Solutions, a full-service marketing resources provider in Annapolis Junction, hosted a record-breaking number of business professionals at its June 10 Marketing Expo.
More than seventy guests streamed through the company facility at 10900 Pump House Road attending mini seminars, enjoying games, meeting promotional products vendors, visiting Millennium’s award-winning showroom, watching print and finishing production in action, and meeting with Millennium’s team of marketing specialists.
“I found the seminars useful. The take-away handouts were perfect – clear and concise. I opened my notebook to take notes, but found that all the key points were covered on the handouts,” saysWilliam R. Burns, Director of Communications at Maryland Chamber of Commerce. “It was nice to meet the vendors and see what’s new.”

June 16, 2008 Millennium Marketing Solutions Gives Digital Press To Providence Center Business
Millennium Marketing Solutions, a printing and marketing company in Annapolis Junction, donated
a Xerox digital printer to a young entrepreneur who runs his own printing business at the Providence Center in Millersville.
Matthew Edwards opened his print shop in 2007 at the Providence Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the
well-being of adults with developmental disabilities. From the beginning, Edwards was determined to make his business
a success. By early 2008, he was ready to expand. Millennium’s owners, Janice Tippett and Jody Franklin, who are sisters,
heard of Edwards’ business endeavor through their father, a member of the Annapolis Knights of Columbus, which raises
money to help support the Providence Center.
“Dad figured we could help,“ said Tippett. “Having grown Millennium from a one-woman shop, I knew this was my
chance to give someone else just starting out an extra boost.”
“I can’t believe what this printer can do,” said Edwards. “This printer will help me to give my customers faster
service [and] make new stationery products.” It would have taken him two or three years to buy what Millennium
has given him, added Edwards.
Millennium also contacted the local division of XPEDX, North America’s largest printing paper supplier, which
donated a large quantity of paper to Edwards. Knights of Columbus’ funds originally earmarked to help
Edwards upgrade his equipment will now be used for other supplies.

December 2007 – Millennium Marketing Solutions has been recognized by the Baltimore Business Journal in the 2007 Book of Lists. Millennium is noted as one of the largest woman-owned businesses (42nd out of 50), as well as one of the largest graphic design providers (7th out of 25).
In 1990 the seeds of Millennium Marketing Solutions were sown when owner Janice Tippett opened her own graphic design business. In 1997 Tippett bought a small print shop to remedy the frustration of losing quality control of her work when it was passed to a print house.
